Over the past 15 years, IKBFU has undergone significant changes. Though our primary goal used to be training specialists for our region, today we are the largest scientific and educational center in the Northwest. IKBFU is a participant in national projects in instrumentation, mega-science projects, the “Priority 2030” program, and more. About the University
Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University is the largest educational, scientific, cultural, and enlightenment center in the westernmost region of Russia, the Kaliningrad Region. The university maintains a leading position in education and science in the Northwestern Federal District and is one of the 10 federal universities in Russia.
IKBFU was founded in 1947 and has since continued to grow and develop alongside the Kaliningrad Region. Today, more than 12,000 students study at IKBFU, including over 1,400 international students from 49 countries around the world.
IKBFU offers more than 100 educational programs at the bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, and residency levels in various fields of knowledge: medicine, IT, bioengineering, humanities, mechanical engineering, etc. Training is also provided in creative disciplines such as graphic design, multimedia design, and journalism.
